If you live outside of Florida, you must use the "Hard Card Scanning" method. You will have your fingerprints taken physically on an FBI-standard card (FD-258) by a local agency in your state, then mail that card to the Florida DBPR's vendor (IdentoGO) for digital processing.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Obtain the Fingerprint Card
Visit a local law enforcement agency (police station, sheriff's office) or a private fingerprinting provider in your current state.
Request to be fingerprinted on a standard FBI FD-258 "Hard Card".
Note: You may need to pay a small fee to the local agency for this service.
2. Register Online with IdentoGO
Before mailing your card, you must register and pay for the Florida processing fee.
Go to the IdentoGO Website and select "Florida" as your state.
Select "Digital Fingerprinting".
Look for the option to "Register for Fingerprint Card Processing Service" (this is specifically for out-of-state applicants).
3. Enter the Correct CAM Data
During registration, you will be asked for an ORI Number (Originating Agency Identifier). This number ensures your results are sent to the correct department.
CAM ORI Number:
FL921932ZAgency: DBPR - Community Association Managers
4. Mail Your Card
Once registered and paid, print your Payment Confirmation/Receipt.
-
Mail your completed FD-258 Fingerprint Card AND your Payment Receipt to the specific address provided on your IdentoGO confirmation page.
Typically, this is the "IdentoGO Florida Card Scan Operations" center in Tallahassee, but always use the exact address on your receipt.
Important Reminders
Do Not Fold: Do not fold or crease the fingerprint card when mailing.
Photo: Some "Hard Card" registrations may ask you to submit a passport-style photo; follow the specific instructions on your receipt.
Processing Time: Allow extra time for mail delivery and scanning (typically 5-10 business days longer than in-state digital prints).
